Because of his experience and expertise, Stann has been in demand as a Fly Fishing Instructor to the worlds best fishing lodges, Vermejo Park Ranch in New Mexico, The Firehole Ranch and Spotted Bear Ranch in Montana, Wilderness Adventures and Ultimate West Fly Fishing in British Columbia are just a few. Stann taught the NOLS Wilderness Fly Fishing Course for 8 years.
Stann worked as an International Fly Fishing Instructor for the Orvis Company since 1996. He has taught fly fishing in the Orvis Fly Fishing Schools located in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Manchester, VT. Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA.
Stann joined Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. as an Adjunct Professor of Fly Fishing teaching two Beginning Fly Fishing classes in the Fall and Spring Semesters from 2009 to 2020.
In July 2006 and 2007, Stann assisted the Government of the Bahamas with the Orvis Bahamas Certified Guide Program.
Stann was a licensed and insured guide in the State of Washington from 1996 to 2016 and guided the local waters in and around his home town of Spokane, Washington.
